  1. Suzy (verified owner)

I use these as a base for feeding as there a great price for the boxes and then add chunks etc for variety.

  2. ttfan1978 (verified owner)

Really impressed with the quality if the rabbit-I was a bit skeptic ask but it’s definitely on par with other brands. My two girls really enjoy rabbit-something I will be ordering regularly.

  3. marsh767 (verified owner)

My dog has tried many of the DAF minces but we recently tried Wild Boar and she loves it. Hope we can get this again

  4. mummylairy (verified owner)

No complaints from the dog, clean bowl Everytime. Happy dog, happy owner.

  5. Pam (verified owner)

A really good budget complete. Lots of flavours. Nice brick shape for easy storage and peelable packaging (no scissors needed). Ideal as a full meal or split to top up DIY. We have tried a lot of flavours and will try some of the new ones in the next order.

  6. marsh767 (verified owner)

We have just tried pheasant and I was worried it would be quite bony but it actually hasn’t been. It’s quite finely minced and the dog loves it so I’ll buy again

  7. marsh767 (verified owner)

We bought DAF minced goat in our last order as my dog likes goat chunks. Very finely minced but quite a lot of bone, I’d say more than 10% so I have to mix with other boneless meat otherwise it’s too high bone content for my dog. She loves the flavour though.

  8. marsh767 (verified owner)

Venison mince is very high on its content of bone. Again another very finely minced mix, quite paste like but you can see how much bone is in it when you mix it up so I have to dilute with boneless.

  9. ttfan1978 (verified owner)

I decided to try a box of pork minces as heard they were good value. Unfortunately none of my girls would eat them, the smell was very off putting and mostly full of fat. Sadly this is in protein from daf they won’t entertain- I find daf a hit or a miss really

  10. ttfan1978 (verified owner)

Pheasant is another mix that didn’t go down well, the smell was very off putting and the texture leaves a lot of be desired. One of my girls reluctantly ate this but then had an upset tummy for a couple of days. I ended up having to throw all the pheasant out.

  11. louise (verified owner)

I use this to keep the monthly costs down
However no complaints from the dogs and the packs are freezer friendly

  12. louise (verified owner)

I use these for my dog who I have taken out the hot foods from her diet
A cheaper option when using less common protiens

  13. louise (verified owner)

Mackerel mince is a fine paste handy when recovering from teeth or jaw vet treatment
    Dogs love the taste

  14. louise (verified owner)

Oily fish option is great quality and good when you have a dog that wont entertain a fish

  15. marsh767 (verified owner)

Have used DAF for sometime as it always suited my dog and I could get a mix of unusual proteins however I’m finding that more and more is far more bone heavy that’s 10%. The lamb always used to be fine but even that has much more bone in now. So far the beef seems ok. It’s a shame as it’s a good budget brand and I know you get what you pay for but it’s gone downhill I think.

  16. julie.crowther (verified owner)

Have bought Daf for 4 years and have had the odd batch that seemed to contain more bone but just accepted it! However last ones I bought (venison and goose) contained so many sharp pieces of bone I just threw them away did not think it safe for my dog to eat! I also feed my dog natural instinct/cotswold but that’s expensive and feeding her Daf 4/5 times a week kept costs ok! Totally agree with above comment Daf are going downhill if you want your dog to have raw but without massive bits of bone in the mince, which is why I chose to feed it to my dog!

  17. julie.crowther (verified owner)

My last review is still waiting approval! In the meantime I have bought beef and chicken/ lamb mix to try again! Bone still in but to be fair not sharp just not want I want for my dog. The bone content will be the same as advertised 10% but it obviously is not being grinded as fine as it was. I have contacted daf they tell me they haven’t changed any of the methods of processing their meats so maybe they need a new grinder?
